Bio

He is a master of texture and atmosphere who is passionate about the marriage of sound and images. Delgado has written music for clients including The NY Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Honda, Caixabank, FIBA, Seat, Google, and Bershka. He’s also done electronic production, music sound design, and additional music for films like Solo (Netflix), The Challenge: ETA (Amazon Prime), 30 Coins (HBO) & Lo dejo cuando quiera.

What sets Carles apart from his peers is his ability to create both electronic and organic sounds and beats. He began life as a classical guitarist and earned a degree in performance from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu de Barcelona. He also received a professional diploma (Summa Cum Laude) in Contemporary Writing and Production and Scoring for Video Games at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, attending on a Presidential Scholarship. With this background, Delgado can create any sort of musical textures a project needs, from completely acoustic to his trademark mix of modular analog synths and live instruments. This gives his work a depth of field few others can match.

The heart of his style is a blend of Igor Stravinsky and The Beatles but Delgado also draws inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Trent Reznor and Jon Hopkins. This wide net of influences gives him the ability to craft compelling sounds and beats for commercials, films, or in support of other artists’ compositions. His smooth mix of analog synths and acoustic instruments gives his work a timeless, adaptable quality that fits into an unlimited number of situations. Carles Delgado is classic and current all at once and any projects needing distinctive and emotive soundtracks would do well to give him serious consideration.
